All About Chakras
Chakra means “wheel” and refers to energy points in your body. They are thought to be spinning disks of energy that should stay “open” and aligned, as they correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well-being.
But where are they and what do they do?
Crown Chakra
is located right above your head. This chakra is all about clearing our minds and thoughts. Just as a shower cleans our bodies, meditation cleans our minds from thoughts and worries that we don't need. It's good to start every day with a fresh mind.
Third Eye
is in the space between our eyes. This is your inner eye. Your two eyes see the material world and your inner eye sees the things that truly matter. It is your conscious and has a lot to do with our dreams, our imagination, and when this is open we can trust our feelings.
Throat Chakra
is located in the center of our necks. This chakra allows us to communicate with others. It gives us the ability to be heard and the strength to speak out. When this is open, we can be honest and understood.
Heart Chakra
is located in the center of the chest. This chakra is where we find peace and love. It allows us to invite love and peace into our lives and reminds us to stay open to things that are familiar as well as things that are different.
Solar Plexus Chakra
is located in the stomach area. This chakra is where our energy comes from. It helps to give us more energy and is our source of personal power. When it is balanced, you will feel strong and powerful.
Sacral Chakra
is located near the belly button. This chakra keeps us in touch with our emotions and reminds us to chill out and go with the flow. Our imagination and our creativity are also sourced from this chakra. We can think clearer and we feel freer to imagine all the great things we can be.
Root Chakra
is located at the base of the spine. It gives us the feeling of being grounded or rooted like a tree. When this chakra is open, you feel happy, secure, and confident. You can do anything!
